A pioneer in her field with notable ‘first achievements’ to her name, Wangi was the first Channel Director for M-Net West Africa, where she established local studios and operations in Nigeria, successfully re-branded the Africa Magic Channels, launched the Africa Magic Igbo language channel, spearheaded the availability of exclusive Nollywood content on Showmax (SVOD), pioneered the founding and promotion of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) for 7 consecutive years, project-managed the launch of Big Brother Naija (BBN) for 7 consecutive seasons, secured the first blockbuster co-production partnership for Africa Magic with the movie 76, and produced the first hyper-local telenovela for Africa Magic (Ajoche) amongst many other accomplishments. At Prime Video (PV), Wangi continued to blaze the trail as the first African and Senior Executive to be appointed on the Africa team where she shaped the entry strategy, developed the local acquisitions and original productions strategy, and played a pivotal role in securing a number of exclusive award-winning blockbuster titles for PV which all achieved local and international success on the platform: Gangs of Lagos, Brotherhood, Battle on Buka Street, SHE Must be Obeyed, LOL Naija, Ebuka Turns Up Africa, Breath of Life, A Tribe Called Judah, Water & Garri, amongst others.
